Project services are dedicated to the delivery of programmes and projects across the IT infrastructure and End User Compute, focusing on ensuring the right solution is delivered on time and on budget. Projects included both Transition & Transformation.


    Combining our core permanent staff with a mix of contractor skills, every customer engagement is underpinned with a professional Service Delivery Manager or Project Manager responsible for the delivery of predictable outcomes within a flexible commercial framework.


    Job Overview


    The position of Programme Manager within Bell Integration is a Senior management role and is focused on delivering defined Programmes and large projects to our end customers as well as the management of portfolios of projects. These will vary from short (4 week assignments) to multi-year projects based on customer sites. The size and complexity can be different and will require resource management and budget oversight. Programmes may be managed on behalf of Bell or the customer depending on the requirement.

    The Programme Manager is responsible for the overall integrity and coherence of the Programme.

    The Programme Manager owns the management of the programme to a successful outcome, developing the Programme of work, including the business case, as well as maintaining the Programme environment to support each individual Project within it, thus achieving overall objectives.


    This role ideally suits someone with extensive experience of managing large scale complex / multi-million GBP budgets that transition and transform business from an IT angle. Key focus around infrastructure programmes, DC migration, work load migrations, End User Transformations and decommissioning.


    The role is expected to be based primarily in London or the South East although some flexibility in location/travel is required to meet our customer’s needs.



    Bell Integration Programme Managers are accountable for:

    • Agreeing the scope of the programme during start-up and capturing changes and seeking approval (if different to the original scope of work) throughout the project lifecycle.
    • The overall programme/project delivery, including cost accountability
    • Managing project delivery, usual by managing Project managers, to the agreed time, quality and cost parameters for the project within a Prince 2 (or customer defined) framework.
    • Shaping and running a programme / project in commercial terms to achieve the best outcome for Bell.
    • Ensuring the agreed project controls are in place, managing and updating stakeholders and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Ownership of the customer relationship during the project, including being the key point of contact & escalation, as well as running any Steering Committees
    • Creation and ownership of a project plan and agreeing committed delivery dates with the customer
    • Ensuring all agreed milestone dates are accurately maintained and reflected in the appropriate management tools (both within Bell Integration and the customer’s systems).
    • Ensure both customer and Bell reporting processes and cycles are followed
    • Manage Risks, issues (along with mitigation), actions and dependencies
    • Line management of project managers and junior project staff
    • Schedule, host and attend customer meetings as and when required
    • Scope management; to manage customer expectations, control change and negotiate compromise.
    • Deliver timely communication and concise management reporting to all stakeholders
    • Where required to manage and motivate technical resources, ensuring projects have a budget and ensuring time and expenses are booked correctly 
    • Capturing lessons learned during the lifecycle of project
    • Closing the project and associated closure documentation i.e. Lessons Learned, Customer Signoff/Feedback
    • Line management and development of junior staff, per the framework for Line Managers
    • Management of a Portfolio of CAPS programmes & projects, being either a Customer centric portfolio or Bell Service Portfolio. This includes all CAPS management aspects from resourcing, commercials and delivery on behalf of Project Services Director *
    • Capture and expansion of customer opportunities to feed into future CAPS work (note that this is not a Sales role, but will work with Pre-Sales & Sales to help shape and win new work)




    1. PRINCE2 certified
    2. MSP certified or equivalent required



    of 7 years’ experience as a Project Management, in particular types of projects; e.g. DC migration.  Minimum 1 year in similar role.  Used to working on large scale programmes, multi-million GBP budgets

    This role will suit a Programme Manager or portfolio manager, with demonstrable management and project management experience. We are seeking someone with both the experience and personal attributes that will deliver exceptional customer satisfaction to our customers.



    • Very strong communication and leadership skills (able to deal with stakeholders in complex governance structures)
    • Well presented, articulate, confident and professional in approach as well as having a good sense of humour. Able to engender trust and confidence in others
    • Professional services business acumen with commercial acumen, including having developed and championed business cases for large programmes.
    • Previous experience working for a consulting services company, services company or as a supplier organisation, or systems integrator.
    • Demonstrable track record of successfully managing, leading/motivating programme & project teams, including direct, indirect reports and suppliers
    • Track record of establishing governance structures to ensure programmes success
    • Ability to delegate, prioritise and get involved at a detailed level when required
    • Full life cycle project management experience from project initiation to project closure with the ability to adapt to the customer’s chosen methodology and standards.
    • Strong task and resource planning in a volatile matrix management environment.
    • Strong risk and issue management skills with an eye on avoiding programme issues through awareness, planning and forward thinking.
    • Demonstrable understanding of project finances and budget management.
    • Solid estimating skills with the ability to contribute to project requirements assessment, estimating and planning.
    • Skilled in Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, SharePoint and Project.



    • Successful delivery of fixed price customer programmes from with a consultancy practice
    • Technical understanding (particularly infrastructure), able to comprehend technical issues and solutions.



    Understanding of the characteristics of delivering programmes in a consultancy organisation. Professional services business acumen and commercial acumen. Understanding of markets, opportunities and competitors as well as business issues and challenges. Understanding of the sales and delivery process.  Understanding of the go-to-market strategies. Software – MS office, MS PowerPoint, MS project. Optional: Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP)

    • Previous experience in large corporate environments, ideally financial services or telecommunications.
