Overview

The Early Careers Development Partner lead the design and delivery of Bell’s Early Careers strategy, focusing on apprenticeships, graduates, and interns as the foundation for future workforce planning. This role partners strategically with the business and People and Values team to attract, develop, and retain early career talent, ensuring programs are impactful, inclusive, and aligned with organisational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Future Workforce Planning: Lead the Early Careers strategy, ensuring alignment with business priorities and future workforce needs. Create a Playbook of best practice for early career programs, enabling consistency and scalability. Understand talent gaps and market strengths across regions to inform program design and recruitment strategies. Iterate and evolve programs to remain relevant and connected to generational expectations and trends.
  • Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding: Partner with the Talent Acquisition and Comms and Engagement teams to articulate the business value of early careers to support business engagement and enhance employer branding in this space. Co-organise recruitment events, career fairs, and networking opportunities alongside marketing campaigns to attract diverse talent. Establish strategic partnerships with universities and other educational institutions to source high-potential candidates.
  • Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and People Partners, providing solutions for early career program needs. Build strong internal partnerships to ensure programs meet functional and organisational requirements. Maintain external relationships with schools, colleges, universities, and industry bodies to strengthen talent pipelines. Identify and manage external training providers for apprenticeship programs (Levels 3–7) in technical, management, and leadership skills.
  • Program Delivery & Participant Development and Wellbeing: Design and implement structured development programs, potentially including rotations, mentoring, and pastoral care for new joiners. Provide guidance and resources to help participants navigate career paths and achieve developmental goals. Ensure programs promote inclusion, wellbeing, and equal opportunities throughout the end-to-end process.
  • Governance, Compliance & Measurement: Manage the apprenticeship levy account, monitor spend and ensure full utilisation of funds. Advise on levy compliance and changes in standards; report on program ROI and success metrics. Continuously evaluate program effectiveness using data analytics and stakeholder feedback, driving improvements.

Qualifications

Looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong background in People Development, specifically in Early Careers Programs.
  • Is an excellent communicator who excels in both verbal and written communication, capable of effectively conveying ideas and engaging stakeholders.
  • Has proven ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders, handle conflicts of interest, and ensure engagement.
  • Is experienced in managing complex programs, including planning, design, execution, and delivery to tight deadlines and high quality.
  • Has the ability to engage a nuanced, international, and remote workforce, guiding them through the change curve for all-employee adoption.
  • Has a deep appreciation and understanding of the technology used to embed solutions.
